Ingredients

  • 4 large carrots peeled
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mandoline Slicer
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Slice the peeled carrots into uniform 1/8-inch thick coins using a mandoline or a very sharp chef knife.
  2. Pat the sliced carrots completely dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. Toss the dried slices in a mixing bowl with the olive oil until evenly coated. Add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper, tossing vigorously.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Arrange the seasoned slices in a single, unstacked layer in the basket.
  5. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes. Remove them immediately when the edges curl and darken, then let them cool on a wire rack to harden.

Notes

  • You will likely need to cook these in multiple batches to ensure they stay in a single layer.
  • Store completely cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature with a paper towel for up to 3 days.
